Serial Number (SN)

To activate one of the editions, you need a valid serial number:

• Please enter your email address below to receive your individual serial number for the free Keil MDK Holtek Edition – Cortex-M0+.
• To activate the Keil MDK Holtek Edition – Cortex-M0+/M3/M4, visit Arm's online store and buy the extended Holtek edition.

In both cases, You will receive a serial number that you can use in the activation step.

In order to use this edition, follow these three easy steps:

• Download and install the IDE.
• Generate a license for the product.
• Activate the product.
• Use example projects to get started quickly.

Installation

1. Download Arm Keil MDK.
2. Run the downloaded MDK5xx.exe installer.
3. Select your installation location (default is C:\Keil_v5). If you have existing MDK installations that you want to keep, select a new folder.
4. In Pack Installer, click Install to download and install a device family packs supplied by Holtek.
   
5. MDK is now ready to use. Launch µVision to create new projects.

License generation

• Go to Arm Developer - Support and select Licensing - Generate.
• Log in into your already existing Arm account or create a new one.
• Enter the serial number XXX:
  
  
• In the next dialog, enter your host ID:
  
  
  

   Note

  Consult the FAQ to find the host ID of your computer.

• Confirm that the entry is correct.
• Press the Download button to retrieve the license from the server.
• Press Download again to save the generated license.dat on your computer:
  
  
• Make a note of the download location and press Close. This concludes the license generation.

Activation

• Run µVision.
• Open the dialog File — License Management..., select the FlexLM License tab, and click on Edit...:
  
• Click the button Select File... and point to the file that you have received downloaded in the previous step:
  
  Click OK.
• If the license is correct, the Support Period will be presented and the output shows:
  

  *** FLEX Settings Modified Successfully ***

• Click Close to finish the activation.

Example projects

1. Open the Pack Installer from the µVision toolbar.
2. Switch to the Examples tab. From the list of available example select the example you want to install. The Devices tab allows to filter for specific devices or device series.
   
3. When pressing Copy, a dialog box will ask for the desired destination. The example will be directly installed into this folder. Folders that do not exist will be created automatically.
   
   Tick Launch µVision to open the project after installation.
