Maxim provides ZEUS, an important advance in integration and security protection for the smart grid. ZEUS is a complete smart-meter system-on-a-chip (SoC) that offers highly accurate metrology, multiple layers of security, and plenty of processing horsepower for today's advanced communication protocols.

The Zeus platform includes MAX71616, MAX71617, MAX71636, and MAX71637. All devices are fully supported by MDK Version 5.

Keil development tools provide comprehensive support for ARM-based Maxim device families in a complete development environment for creating, debugging and verifying embedded applications.

Getting Started with Maxim ZEUS and MDK Version 5

Application Note 265 demonstrates various examples with the Maxim Zeus Cortex-M3 MAX716xx family of processors and Keil µVision.
Examples from the ZEUS Device Family Pack (DFP) are discussed in detail. All examples are compliant to Cortex Microcontroller Software Interface Standard (CMSIS).

Memory reads and writes and the RTX Kernel Awareness Viewer using the µVision debugging tools are shown.
