New: Source Browser Engine for ARM Compiler 6

The new engine is based on the same technology that the ARM Compiler 6 itself uses for best compatibility and user experience. The engine enables the following features in the uVision Editor:

  • Auto Completion
  • Dynamic Syntax Checking
  • Source Browser window with database of all functions, paramaters, variables, types and macros
  • Navigation through declarations, definitions and references of symbols

The µVision IDE features a new status bar to indicate the status of the symbol database processing.

New: ARM Compiler 6.7

  • Support has been added for __at sections that are named .bss.ARM.__at_<address>. The linker will place the associated ZI data at the specified address.
  • Added the -ffp-mode=model option which can be used to specify the level of floating-point standard compliance.
  • __attribute__((value_in_regs)) function attribute has been extended to improve compatibility with the equivalent ARM Compiler 5 feature.
  • Bugfixes: Refer to Release Notes for details.

New: Improved integration of PC-Lint for MISRA checking

  • µVision now offers a MISRA-C++ 2008 template for C++ projects.
  • A new warning level avoids conflicts of MISRA rules and CLANG diagnostic messages.
